* Webinar Speaker：Fr. Bienvenido F. Nebres, S.J. (Former President, Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines)

Fr. Bienvenido F. Nebres, S.J. served as President of Ateneo de Manila University for 18 years (1993-2011). He was dean of the Ateneo College of Arts and Sciences (1973-1980) during the first years of martial law. He was Provincial Superior of the Jesuits in the Philippines (1983-89) during the time of democratic transition to President Corazon Aquino. He was president of Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro (1990-1993).

Fr. Nebres did his early studies in classics and philosophy in the Jesuit Scholasticate, Berchmans College, and completed an AB and MA in philosophy. He obtained a PhD in mathematics from Stanford University.

* Background：

"Leading Through Crisis" is a webinar series on higher education leadership in Asia, envisioned as an initiative to support leaders in the United Board network during the COVID -19 pandemic. This series will feature one highly acclaimed master speaker each month, it aims to create an opportunity to reflect on how to better lead the self, and exemplify whole person leadership in a time of crisis. With the COVID-19, we are entering not into one health crisis, which will be overcome with the arrival of vaccines, but a cascade of crises because of the changes in the world brought about by this pandemic.  In this session, Fr. Ben Nebres will invite us to reflect how we could use spirituality as our anchor to hold us together amidst the demands and pressures of leadership, and give us the inner freedom, courage, and vision.
